Had a scattering of World of Tanks battles this weekend, here's a few observations...

Lemming Train is usually the express to Loserville

On Fjords from the SE spawn this weekend had a battle where the ENTIRE team except myself (in a T1 Heavy) and a Ram II went north. Including 4 other heavies. Of course they didn't tell anybody they were doing this...so it left the Ram and myself 2 against 7 or 8 in the southern half of the map and we got overrun pretty quickly while the other idiots crawled up the hill. Most of them probably Were probably just rounding the corner at the top when 4 enemy tanks rolled unopposed into our cap.

It was a disastrous loss - I think the final was 15-3.

Seriously - know your tank and know the map. It's fine to do the unexpected sometimes, but taking ALL (but 1) of the HTs north up that slow hill climb is stupid.

Can't be afraid to play the video game...

I understand TDs sitting back a bit and sniping, but when I see mediums and even light tanks hiding in the bushes by the spawn...especially while their teammates are outnumbered in the field trying to battle it just baffles me. If you're in a LT or a MT you'd better press W within a few seconds of the count down ending. Get into the fight, or else you're probably causing your team to lose.

On a more positive note...

Picked up an SU-85B this weekend on my way to the SU-85, Tier V Russian TD. It's actually a pretty decent little machine. The base gun isn't brilliant, but it's got a nice rate of fire and good mobility. For a Tier IV I'd rate it pretty high.

Light Tank Tip...

Redundancy is a great thing in a lot of areas. It's good to have backups of your data. It's nice to have somebody who can watch your dog if you're away. But having two light tanks spotting in the same place is almost always a waste. If you're driving a light tank, arrive at a spotting location and find one of the other light tanks from your team is already there...relocate to where you can be more useful.

This weekend on Highway I took my T21 to the A1 square to spot. Much to my bemusement our Type 64 arrived moments later and parked right next to me. Especially considering I announced in battle chat DURING THE COUNTDOWN that I was going to go there I'm not sure why he thought that was a good place to locate. But he did. I gently pointed out to him again, at that point, that having us both there seemed pointless...and he wandered off.

Seriously folks - talk to each other, pay attention to your teammates, have a plan B for if somebody else on your team already had plan A handled.

Go be epic. GLHF!
