This week the Showdown Saturday tank is going to be an arty, the M44. The bad news is that means you may see a few more M44s than usual on the battlefield. The good news is that I don't think THAT many players chase the Showdown Saturday mission so maybe it won't be too bad.
What is Showdown Saturday?
Showdown Saturday is a contest that World of Tanks runs where each week they pick a tank (usually tier 5 or tier 6) and they have an employee or a community contributor play that tank and set a base XP score that will be the target. On Saturday they'll post that score on Twitter and Facebook, and the players will have a chance to best that score.
If you best that base XP score grab a screenshot of your endplates showing the base XP and post it to Twitter or Facebook with the #ShowdownSaturday hashtag. Every player who does so will receive free bonds, premium time, and boosters.
This week they're also giving a LeafBlower (leFH1882) Tier V French arty to the person who gets the absolute top score.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do only games I play on Saturday count?
A: No, but I'm not sure what range they'll accept. I've submitted games I played on Friday and they took those. I've seen people submit games on Sunday and I think those got accepted as well. So most likely if you get a qualifying score that weekend (or a day or so before) they'll go with it.
Q: Does the x2 bonus or boosters count?
A: No, only the base XP counts.
Q: How quickly do I get my rewards?
A: It varies. Sometimes it takes a few days. I think I've usually gotten mine by the following Tuesday or Wednesday but your mileage may vary.
Q: Is the score they set impossibly high?
A: Not usually. I think Mountain Man set a really high O-I score one week, Sofilein set a really challenging score in the P26/40 one week, but generally speaking the scores are good, but beatable if you have a good game.
