Tank Review: The VK 75.01 K

The VK 75.01 K is a premium, tier 8, German HT. It's rear-turreted, has good frontal armor and high alpha. It also has low DPM, and not much mobility.

The turret is very stout with 250mm of frontal armor; same as a Defender. You want to be hull-down, but keep in mind it only has -5 degrees of gun depression so you're not going to play ridges.

The rear turret is an advantage for side-scraping but guard your lower front plate zealously because it's a weak spot and if you over-expose enemy heavies will make short work of you. But if you get the angles right the VK is very tough to deal with frontally and the 490 alpha is nice.

Do keep in mind that you've got a cupola on your left side, but I don't find that people pen it as often as I'd expect. Still...protect it as much as possible and try not to make it an easy target.

I should add that the roof is very weak, which combined with the slow speed can make you a bit of an arty magnet.

226 standard pen is generally fine vs tier 8 and even some tier 9s. You'll struggle with tier 10s, but all tier 8 heavies struggle with tier 10s.

As I mentioned the 490 alpha is nice, and at .37 the accuracy could be worse, I guess. It's got a really long reload though (15 seconds with rammer and BIA) so the DPM is pretty low. You'll want to do what you can to speed the reload, but it's just the price you pay for 490 alpha at Tier 8.

Mobility is typical super-heavy, 11.89 power-to-weight and top speed of just 30. So you won't be shifting around the yard easily. You'll want to plan ahead because it will take you a bit of time to get there.

Equipment

I recommend rammer, vents, and v-stabs.
