A few random WOT thoughts...
May On Tracks
I just wrapped up the May On Track tanks. I needed to grind to the T110E3 and the Progetto 65, (I already had the WZ-111 5A) then I needed to grind enough credits to get those in the garage, plus rebuy a couple of the Chinese HTs.
Today I rebought the IS-2 and completed the set. So for the last ~9 days of the month I'll just be grinding credits and doing the Crystal Challenge marathon for the Kpz 07.
Looking forward to the preview article (usually comes between the 26th and 29th of the month) to let me know what the June On Tracks will be, so I can start planning for those. I have held off spending blueprints until I see if I'll want to use them to help unlock any of the On Track tanks. If it turns out all of the June On Tracks are things I already have then I'll probably just use a bunch of blueprints on other lines.
Crystal Challenge - Kpz 07
This is another typical World of Tanks marathon event. You'll have to grind for 7 hours a day, unless you're a high level player with a garage full of Tier IX/Xs to win with. As usual I just expect to get 40%-60% off (depending on how well I play and how much time I have) and will likely buy the tank from there.
Wargaming did me a favor this time, the secondary missions aren't that interesting to me so unlike some of the previous marathons I'm not really tempted to buy the Kpz 07 early so I can do the secondary missions with it.
I haven't played the tank itself, but it looks decent. Mobile, fast firing, good gun (though low alpha). I suppose if I think about it that sort of describes the HWK 30, which I hate, but the HWK 30 gets LT matchmaking which often puts the pressure on you to scout, while the Kpz is a MT.
Here's what Skill4LTU thinks about the KPZ 07
These teams, these teams!
May was a brutal month for my win rate. Even though my damage per game and kill/death ratio both went up, my win rate PLUMMETED. For most of the month I was struggling to even get 45% wins - and so many of the my teams were just completely melting. I've had streaks like that of a few days in WoT before, but never for a few WEEKS. It was pretty frustrating, to say the least.
I've heard speculation that it's because of all the players on Steam; and maybe an influx of new players who showed up, bought Tier 8 premiums, and stumbled out into battle with no idea which way was north. Maybe.
But a couple of days ago, just as suddenly as it started, the tide turned. For the last few days I've been winning more than 65%. So...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
How is World of Tanks going for you? Are you excited for the Kpz 07 or not so much? Let us know in the comments below?
