SnapShot: The Foch On Track

Was away visiting family for a few days so didn't get to play. Returned to the Foch 50B On Track and immediately bought the Tier 9 Foch and started grinding it.

The grind to the Foch

Is not great. None of the French TDs leading up to the Foch are very good. In fact, so far, the only good French TDs I've found are the M10 RBFM and the CDA 105...which are both premiums.

Maybe the ARL V39 at tier 4 is ok. The rest of them are pretty trash.

First impressions of the Foch

The Foch isn't much better than its predecessors. The gun is about as trollish as any I've played.
Q: "What 3 words mean nothing to a Foch gunner?"
A: "Fully aimed shot."

It's got a 4-shot autoloader and to its credit there is only the one gun, so no need to grind to a top gun. But the gun is so derpy that despite the BIA crew, Improved Rotation Mechanism, and .32 dispersion, so many of my shots end up in the dirt. The shell velocity on the standard sheels is listed at 1067 m/sec but they feel much slower than that.

I came into the Foch thinking this grind might give me a chance to knock off TD-15...but after 5 games I'm learning that I struggle to get more than 1500 damage consistently just because the typical clip is "Miss, miss, pen, miss" reload for 30 seconds.

Luckily the armor is trollish too. I bounced more than 3K damage in a game on Pilsen, mostly from a Skorp who was bouncing APCR off me over and over again.

Ultimately...this is going to be a slow grind, I'm afraid. Unless the gun/RNG improves a lot, it's going to be hard to have great games in this.
