AutoLoader: T42 rides again, game comms, collecting tanks

A few thoughts from the week of November 1st...

T42 rides again

Dusted off my T42 (Tier 8 American Premium MT) to play it a bit and grind Field Modifications. I've got my M48 crew in it at the moment. But just realized a problem with that when I was updating crew skills...

...the M48's loader is the radio operator. The T42's commander is. So you're not getting the benefit of Situational Awareness in the T42 if you're running the M48 crew in it.

M46 and M26 (Pershing) has a dedicated radio operator and the T42 doesn't...same problem. In fact NONE of the American tech tree MTs have a crew that lines up quite right with the T42, so it's just not a very good crew trainer *AND* you'll never get the most out of it unless you give it a dedicated crew.

So I like the T42 but...it's got crew issues.

P.S. The TL-1 LPC has the same crew issues.

Reloading...

In-game comms with pubbies can be a hit or miss experience. One of the built-in comms I use situationally is pressing F8 for the "Reloading" announcement. I tend to use it when I'm playing an arty or an autoloader, or occasionally if I'm working in close quarters with somebody and I have a long reload.

The reason I use it is to communicate that I'm on reload and my teammate should wait a few seconds if they're counting on me to support. I know how frustrating it is to make a move and have your team not shoot...and I want to try and help them know that I'm not able to shoot at that moment.

How many in the garage?

After my "Got em all" post the other day somebody asked me how many tanks I actually have in the garage at the moment. Here ya go.

That includes 41 tier Xs and 51 tier IXs.

GLHF!
