Twice in the last week I've had people PM me in World of Tanks after a battle to complain that I didn't play the way they wanted to. Couple of things about that:
- Don't do that.
- In both of the games in question, we WON...and I had multiple kills.
I can only imagine how much time they spend whining in chat if they're going to PM teammates who had multiple kills in games we won.
If you can't be positive, be constructive
When you play World of Tanks that's going to happen. You're going to get teammates complaining in chat, and you'll get a few who want to extend the argument after the game. I'll admit that I've occasionally complained about a teammate in chat during the battle. Along the lines of "Gee, thanks for the help T29." I'm not proud of it, and I'm trying to be better about that.
But I don't think I've ever reached out to somebody after the battle to harass them. I've OFTEN reached out after the battle to compliment somebody.
And when people ping me after the battle to complain there are two basic approaches they can take:
1. "When I pushed that corner against the Ferdi I wish you'd come around the building and flanked him."
or
2. "YOU SUCK! UNINSTALL YOU RETARD LOSER #$#@, @$*(#A$, #@$#$@, #@$#$. GO BACK TO TIER 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Approach #1 is far more useful. In those cases that person might be right. And if I think they are, I'll usually respond with something like, "Yeah, I should have. I was looking at the Obj 416 to the south and hesitated."
Or maybe I don't agree and I might say something like "I considered it, but I didn't want to do it because their Chrysler GF was on the other corner and I was a 1-shot to him."
I'm happy to engage in a productive conversation about battle tactics; ESPECIALLY if we disagree. I like to learn and maybe the other person has a useful piece of feedback that helps me be a better player. I've had several of those kinds of conversations that started with him unhappy with me, and ended with us friending each other in-game.
But the second kind of player is just throwing a tantrum. I usually dismiss them and if they persist add them to my block list just to shut them up.
If you have to message somebody post-game in WoT try to be positive, or at least constructive.
