AutoLoader - November 8th

Now that the election is behind us we can hopefully get past people typing "Vote [Trump/Biden]" in the chat and get back to just shooting red tanks. Here's a few random thoughts...

Grinding credits

Being a tank collector is sort of fun, but it's also expensive (in terms of silver credits). Even though I'm buying tanks on sale it still takes a lot of credits. Currently the Badger is On Track and the 50K XP I still need is only part of the equation: I need 200K more credits even if I had the Badger unlocked.

Plus, since I'm collecting, I'll need another 900K credits to rebuy the AT 2 and AT 8. That doesn't include any camo, or equipment!

So, I'm playing a lot of premium tanks right now, and running boosters, just to keep filling the bank. I even created a little Excel spreadsheet to track what I need and how I'm doing:

Fortunately I have until December 5th, nearly a month, to get this squared away because I had a nice head start on it.

Up next...M48 Patton

The next On Track after this one is the M48 Patton. That starts on Nov 20th. That grind will be purely credits because I've already unlocked the M48; I've just never bought it. And I'll have to rebuy the Pershing - trying not to remember how much I disliked the Pershing when I was grinding through it.

With the On Track event the entire line is "On Sale" for 30%-50% off. Which means the M48, which usually costs 6.1M credits, is only 4.3M credits. Likewise the Pershing is 800K credits cheaper than usual.

Of course, they'll be ill-equipped initially...

As I buy these tanks on such a lean credit budget it means I don't have the credits to buy much equipment though. So in many cases I'm rolling into battle without optics, or with the stock engine, or whatnot. That's a problem that will get solved in time, as I keep grinding credits, and have all the tanks bought, I'll be able to apply credits to buying more gear.

Santa Claus is coming to town

Hopefully early-Dec will feature the return of the Christmas lootboxes. Not only is it a cool event for stocking up on premium time, maybe getting a tank or two, it's also where I get most of my gold for the year, a bunch of extra garage slots (which I suddenly need since I'm collecting tanks) AND a bunch of silver. Last year I pocketed 17.6M silver, which would sure come in handy right now.

How to lose on Lakeville

Had a battle on Lakeville the other day where TWELVE of our team went valley. The outcome was pretty predictable, we lost 6-15. Yes, they steamrolled the 4 enemy tanks that went valley, but then they were unable to round the corner at their base. It's too easy for a handful of tanks to hold that corner defensively, if they're competent.

So all of them died at that NW corner, within sight of the enemy cap. Meanwhile the enemy force that went town, didn't have too much trouble disposing of the three of us who were totally defensive, watching our team suicide through the valley. I got a kill or two, but there's only so much I could do 2 vs 8.

GLHF!
