My fault for pressing W...
...while there were EBRs on the enemy team. Had a battle Tuesday night that made me completely toxic. WZ-132A on Overlord. Enemy team had an EBR 105. Right from the go he was doing EBR things, basically just holding W and racing around the map at ridiculous speeds without a care.
Three times I fired shots into him. Every single shot disappeared harmlessly into his wheels (two of them said "critical hit" but didn't appear to do anything to him. In the meantime he autoaimed me and penned me for over 800 total damage as he went by at top speed.
But you know what, it was my own fault for pressing "W" while there was an EBR on the enemy team. Lesson learned. From now on I just don't go to a forward position in an LT (and maybe not an MT) when there are still EBRs on the enemy team.
Congratulations Wargaming, you've figured out a way to make me camp. At the very least I'm not really at all interested in playing light tanks above about Tier 7 any more. There's just not much point to it. #facts
Alternatively...
If just camping in the WZ-132A for the rest of the grind (at least if there are enemy EBRs still alive) just gets too unbearable I guess I'll just blueprint my way to the Tier X and call it good.
How about that WZ-132A?
Have to say, I struggle to win in it. The camo isn't amazing for a light tank, and it's really more of a medium than a scout. Especially in a Tier 10 game there are a lot of tanks, even MTs and TDs, that will outspot you and you have light tank armor.
It reminds me a bit of a HWK 30, big, ok gun, good view range, meh camo. For Tier 9 even the gold ammo isn't that good - only 225 pen on the stock gun, 248 on the top gun. Bounces way more than it should for gold ammo.
I have 34% camo, and an excellent 503 view range, on mine at the moment, which isn't terrible but still feels like it gets outspotted a lot.
It's not a BAD tank, but I'm not very good in it and my teams have been atrocious. Fatal combination.
It feels like more of a grind than recent On Tracks.
New tactics
Right now I'm trying being a little less aggressive at the start - the meh camo is getting me lit and shot too early. Saving my hit points a bit longer, shooting less (at least early on), and going for more tracking shots when I do fire.
We'll see if it helps.
