Frontline Season 5 is approaching the end, here's a couple of fast takes...
A bit more balanced...
I'll take back what I said at the beginning of this season about defense just being cannon fodder. Whatever WG to change the balance it seems to have actually flipped. Whereas attack won like 75% in Season 4, today in 10 battles I saw defense win 70% in Season 5. And over the course of the week I saw defense win more often than attack.
A meta is forming...
Everybody knows Cap C is the easiest to defend, so a lot of attackers don't even bother. I've had a couple of games of defense on C now, where the attackers barely even pushed the cap...and I spent the first 6 or 7 minutes of the game with almost nothing to do. It's frustrating and makes it hard to rank up.
The same thing happens on defense on B. I've had a few games now where my fellow defenders on B just immediately drove to C or A because they know that B is pretty easy to cap.
Got the STA-2
I finished Prestige 3 and got the STA-2 from Frontline today.
I had the STA-2 as a rental a year or so ago and wasn't that impressed, but maybe I'll like it more when I have a bit more time in it.
Why did I get it instead of saving for the "better" tanks? Because I already have the WZ-111 and my time to play is relatively limited by family obligations so I don't think I'll be able to grind enough to get to the Tier 9 tank. If I'm lucky I *MIGHT* grind enough to get the Emil 1951, but I think that's doubtful.
So I took the STA-2. Now I'm basically just playing to grind credits and train crew.
