Snap Shot: What gets me salty?

I'm at the point where I don't get too salty at my teams; especially if they're new players. It is what it is. But the one thing that really makes me want to rage quit World of Tanks...

Arty.

Not one arty. Even two is usually ok. But when you get a battle with 3 arty it's almost not worth playing. Here's an example of what happened when I took my IS out this weekend. This battle was on Prok...I was back in the garage in 3-1/2 minutes having fired exactly two shots.

There's really nowhere to go on Prok that's arty safe. At least nowhere useful. Especially not in a heavy tank. As soon as you get spotted, you get shat on. And that's all this was. Repeatedly getting shat on by three clickers, unable to even get into position to get good shots.

That got me salty.

"They're no different than sniper TDs!" some people will say. But they are. If a sniper TD shoots me, I can shoot back at him. Those three arty on Prok who were crapping on me? It was physically impossible for me to shoot back at them, even if they were spotted. They were on the other side of hills/ridges/buildings. I couldn't even blind fire them. They could shoot me with impunity.

Three arty in a battle is too many. And frankly, at this point when I'm in a heavy (and even some mediums or TDs maybe) if I see 3 arty in the lineup...I adjust my tactics significantly. To the point where I actually will pretty much camp. If I can find an arty safe spot - tucked into a building or big enough rock - I may just sit there, or not venture far.

If there is no arty safe spot then I'm likely to sit way back, in the bushes, unspotted as long as possible.

And that sucks. It's not fun and it's not as helpful to my team as it could be. But look at that hit log above. That's less fun and less helpful. And it's inevitably what happens when there are three arty in the game.

One arty is fine. Two, usually ok.

Three arty in a battle is too many.

GLHF.
