PSA: Button your fly

The new Field Modifications feature in World of Tanks is interesting - letting you have different loadouts and select during the countdown. Doesn't solve all the problems - loading into a 3-arty Tier X game in a VK 100.01P is still not going to be a very good experience - but it adds a dynamic and gives you a chance to be a little more competitive.

However...the very first thing you unlock with the field mods is the ability to have separate ammo loadouts and some people don't bother to equip the second set of ammo either because they don't want to spend the credits to buy a second set of ammo, or they figure the gold ammo isn't enough better than the standard ammo to justify the cost.

But here's the potential problem...

Imagine you're loading into Siegfried Line in your T-44-100. It's a Tier X game so you decide to switch to the 2 ammo loadout which has more gold ammo. You take a sip of your beverage, and with about 5 seconds left in the count down you get around to clicking "2" to switch.

Then you realize...

You never put ammo in build 2.

Before you can scramble to change back to build 1...the battle starts. And you're loaded into a Tier X game, in a T-44-100, with no ammo.

Not saying that happened to me (though it is oddly specific, isn't it?).

So here's the tip, to prevent that happening to you...

If you don't want to set up a special second config...just load the exact same ammo and consumables in the second build as you have in the first. You're not actually going to have to pay for the second set of ammo because until you fire it it's still considered to be "in the depot". Loading the same ammo in both builds is free.

And it protects you against accidentally switching to a build that has no ammo. Not that I've ever done that...on Siegfried Line...in my T-44-100.

GLHF!
