Hi everybody!
It's been a busy day of opening boxes and getting the Festive Atmosphere up to X. Wanted to do a quick post to get you some info (I'll be updating as I go).
For a moment I thought there was an Object 279 in this box! |
How'd I do?
Let's take a look at what the boxes contained...
Tanks
The usual 300 boxes (75 of each type) netted out the usual good haul. As expected I got all three of the new premium tanks.
- Got the M-IV-Y in the 27th box
- The Tornvagn in the 68th box
- The Caliban in the 118th box
And I got all of the lower tier tanks. By the time I was done I'd received 4 Tornvagns, 2 Calibans, 2 M-IV-Ys, 2 Skoda T 56s (I already had it before this event), and several of each of the lower tier tanks. In total the 300 boxes contained 43 tanks which is an average of a tank every 6.98 boxes.
By comparison last year I averaged a tank every 11.54 boxes and over the last 3 years a tank every 9.82 boxes. Since 2018 this was the highest rate of tank drops I've seen.
Garage slots
As a tank collector I'm always glad to have extra garage slots and Holiday Ops never disappoints. Thanks to all the duplicate tanks I added 35 new empty garage slots, which works out to a new garage slot about every 8.6 boxes.
The previous 3-year average was a garage slot every 12.4 boxes.
Gold
The gold haul was pretty good as well, though to be fair a lot of it was fueled by those duplicate tanks (especially the duplicate Tier 8s). The Skoda T 56 in particular is a valuable duplicate to get because it's the one that rewards the largest gold compensation (10,550).
This year I netted 193,500 gold which was an average of 645 per box. That's much better than last year's 507.2/box and better than the 3-year average of 626.4...but not as good as 2018 or 2019 when I averaged at least 675/box. 2020 may just have been an aberration.
Silver
I totaled 15,400,000 credits this year for an average of 51,333 per box. That's considerably below the 3-year average of 59,333/box and really doesn't get that close to any of the previous 3 years.
Premium time
I will never have to buy premium time again. Thru missions and other rewards it seems like I earn premium time about as fast as I use it, then I added another 234 days of Premium time through these boxes. I think I have more than 2 years of premium time now.
Anyhow, I averaged .78 days of premium per box which is considerably higher than any of the previous 3 years, and well above the .68 days/box that is the previous 3-year average.
Skins
To be honest I don't much care about the skins. I'm sure I got all of them (6?).
Other thoughts on lootboxes
Not having multiple levels of decorations made it easier, no tracking whether I got a Level 3 or a Level 5 or whatever. But it also meant that each box has just one decoration in it. At that point all you care about is if the decoration is new or not (new ones advance your "Festive Atmosphere").
The box I hated to see was the "1 Decoration, 250 Gold, 1 Day of Premium Time". As above I've got hundreds of days of Premium time so that box was pretty much the bare minimum of what I was going to get.
I loved seeing the boxes that had a Tier 8 in them because it either meant an interesting new tank, or a big gold reward for a duplicate.
Interesting that I didn't get a 122 TM in any of the boxes. I already have the tank, but strange that I got at least 2 of everything else, but none of those. It has the smallest gold compensation so I'm kinda fine with that.
Hope you found that interesting or useful. GLHF!
