The Safe Haven map is (as of the moment) the newest map in the game and there are a lot of positions I haven't explored yet. So, recently, I was curious about a couple of potential TD positions and decided to try them out.
The positions in question are at A1, up the ramp, behind the bushes and at A0/B0 on the hill behind the bushes. The Western position
The A1 position was the first position I tried and I actually found it to be not bad. You have good shots on people pushing around the north side of the harbor or poking the north side of the boat house on the 5 or 7 lines. You also get some shots on people around C6, people pushing to the D5 ramp, or between the obstacles if they push all the way down into the 4 line.
AND the bushes, if you use them properly, provide excellent cover. I went most of the battle, shooting, dealing damage, and even spotting a bit, without getting spotted myself.
I wouldn't take a top tier TD there at the outset, unless the enemy team has a LOT of HTs and you think the battle will be mostly fought in the north. Generally a good sniper TD will have more impact in the south, but I was bottom tier so I figured if I didn't do much, I wasn't costing the team much.
As it turns out I did almost 2K damage in a Tier 6 TD and got a pair of kills. Pleased with that.
Would certainly try this position again in a bottom tier TD or sniper MT.
The Eastern position
If I try this position again I'll see if it's useful to play a bit further north on that hill, but I'm not optimistic.
