There are two kinds of missions in World of Tanks
Random thought...I classify the missions in World of Tanks into two types: Achievement missions and persistence missions.
Achievement missions
These are the ones that require you to have a particularly good game (sometimes an extremely good game). You can play an entire session and not accomplish them if things don't go your way. These are things like "Damage 7 tanks in a battle" or "Be 1st in Damage on your team."
You can get them done in a single good game...or you could play a couple of hours and never have a game good enough to finish it.
With relative achievement missions - where your achievement is relative to your team; like "Be top 3 in damage" - having bad teams can help. If half your team does no damage, it's a lot easier to be top 3 in damage.
Persistence missions
These are the ones that are grindy. The accomplishment accumulates over a series of battles. For example: "Damage 15 tanks" or "Earn 2000 Base XP". Even in mediocre games you will probably make progress towards the goal
I tend to prefer persistence missions because I don't have to get in "Try Hard" mode, and they're not quite as team/MM dependent.
Trying to grind through Battle Pass faster?
Here are a couple of things that can help.
Buy the Reinforcements
The single biggest thing I've seen to speed up the grind is the Reinforcements package you can buy in the premium shop. It's $10(US) so you do have to dip into your wallet, but it's one of the best deals I've seen in World of Tanks.
When you buy it you get a series of persistence missions like "Do 10,000 damage over any number of games". You have to complete each mission to unlock the next, but if you play fairly steadily you'll probably finish them all within a week or so. And the rewards for finishing them are excellent - a LOT of crew training books, and a lot of battle pass points.
In some cases finishing a mission might give you 200 Battle Pass points...that's enough to close FOUR chapters, just for knocking out one mission. I don't recall now how many total Battle Pass points you get, from the Reinforcements package, but I think it was over 1000 total.
Honestly one of the best deals I can remember Wargaming offering. All those rewards, on readily achievable missions, for $10.
Play Tier 6
Each tank in your garage has a maximum number of Battle Pass points you can get in that tank during the event. You can see those displayed at the top of the tank card.
This tank already has 71 out of 100 possible BP points |
Tier 6 tanks have the lowest max (100) and when you hit that you'll get a 15 point bonus. So it's a relatively easy thing to hit (If you're a decent player you can probably do it in 20-25 battles) and when you do there's an easy 15 point bonus for you.
Shopping spree in World of Tanks
This weekend, until Tuesday the 12th I think, almost everything is on-sale in the store. Equipment, consumables, and tech tree tanks. If you've been stockpiling credits it's a great time to stock up on that stuff and stash it in your depot for future needs.
GLHF!
